For Patients

Get Clarity Without Guesswork

Understand your risk window and walk away with a plan you can follow — personalized to your genetics, not a population average.

What You Get

Your Report Tells You Four Things

01

Your Risk Score

The MaculaGen test analyzes 14 genetic markers across 12 genes — including CFH and ARMS2 — to provide your personalized risk profile with defined time windows for 2-, 5-, and 10-year progression.

02

Supplement Guidance

For approximately 15% of patients, zinc-based AREDS supplements (≥25 mg/day) triple the risk of wet AMD. Your CFH and ARMS2 genotype determines which formulation is safest.

03

Monitoring Plan

A recommended follow-up schedule based on your risk level — so you and your eye care provider can watch for changes at the right intervals.

04

Clear Next Steps

No jargon, no confusion. A plain-language summary of what your results mean and what you can do about it — today.

Supplements

Not All AREDS Are Equal

AREDS and AREDS2 supplements are the gold standard for AMD prevention. But research shows that for people with certain CFH genotypes, zinc-containing formulations may actually increase risk of progression.

AREDS2 (zinc-free) may be recommended

For CFH high-risk genotypes

Standard AREDS2 (with zinc) is appropriate

For most other genotypes
